Sam Lawrence is a filmmaker with autism. After graduating class valedictorian from Full Sail University’s Digital Cinematography program in January 2017, Sam raised funding to start his own production company, Visualize Results. Visualize Results has produced more than 30 short films and 2 feature length documentaries about disability issues. In 2020, two of his documentaries were broadcast on PBS.
One of the manifestations of my autism is hypersensitivity to noise. As society went into seclusion during the pandemic, the world grew quieter. I wasn’t so different anymore. As we emerge from our hibernation, thanks to the vaccines, I wonder how people will have changed. This film poses this question through three video poems.
