Andy Burkitt is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker in Melbourne. Whilst having experience in multiple aspects of film and television from lighting and sound departments, to writing and producing, directing is where Andy hopes to go with his career.
Having worked closely with Jack Braddy (Writer) on a previous short film when he discussed his idea for a play he had written that he wanted to turn into a short film. I loved his idea, his attitude and his sense of humour and wanted to help him make his idea come to life. Jack also spoke to Lachlan (Producer) who was also working on this previous short film and also took an interest, and we had our core team ready to make this film.
We all brought a lot to the table, Lachlan was a terrific first time producer finding the perfect location partner in The Public Brewery in Croydon, who had an amazing brewery that they generously allowed us to shoot at and helped us in every way we needed. Jack brought his WAAPA graduate friends and colleagues on board to bring his characters to life. Having such a high standard of actors in this production was an amazing experience for both my self and the crew I brought onboard to see in action. With only a few weeks from pre-production to post, we achieved more than I could’ve imagined, thanks to the dedicated and talented cast and crew.
