Director Biography - Janne Willockx

Hi! My name is Janne Willockx, and I'm a 23 year old, recently graduated animator and director. I studied animation in Brussels, Belgium, where I specialised in stop-motion.

I'm very excited to show my very first short film to the world & get to know other creators at festivals!

Director Statement

This film and it's main character is based on my grandfather. It's a purposefully naive fictional story about accepting and letting go of control. With this film I hope to create a feeling of release and an appreciation for the chaotic sides of life.

I made everything you can see in this film by hand. From the trees, sky, house to the character, his letters and pills. This handmade feeling helps the story feel more human, with it's tiny imperfections. I hope you enjoy it.
