Director Biography - Luis Rafael Rodriguez Barrera

Born on September 29, 2005 in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico, Rafael Rodríguez is a creative mind who, at the age of 18, left his hometown to study for a degree in Cinematographic and Audiovisual Arts at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. He has participated in various local independent projects in Aguascalientes such as Soundist, Assistant Director, Assistant Photography, Acting and Lighting Assistant. But his first major independent project would be "Help Us"; completed on March 8, 2025 and released on March 14, 2025. Months later, on September 12, 2025, he released his second short film titled "Una Sincera Interview," a fictional story with personal dyes by Rafael.

Director Statement

With a style of false documentary, I capture a story that arises because of the insecurities when entering a world of which you are not part, but to which you truly want to belong. Rafa, the protagonist, is always shown in front of a camera, being exhibited and questioned all the time in a situation that overcomes him.
