Hilda is hired by a man called Wilder to translate a mysterious book called "The King in Yellow". Her brother Louis has doubts about Wilder, the book and Hilda in general. But to Hilda this might be much more than a simple translation job.

Director Biography - Tobias Enevoldsen

Tobias Enevoldsen (b. 1978) is a filmmaker from Copenhagen, Denmark. Besides making short films and music videos, he has also worked as an illustrator, VFX-artist and created several comic-books and graphic novels. As a musician he has also appeared on several albums.

Director Statement

A Queen in Carcosa/En Dronning i Carcosa is loosely based on the short story "The Repairer of Reputations" from the book The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers. I decided to focus on the mental state of the main character Hildred (who in this film has been gender swapped to a woman called Hilda) and his/her relationship to the cousin (here changed to brother) Louis.
