A Prophet

Logline: A veteran struggles to reintegrate into family life and seeks new treatment for mental illness, but an experimental treatment leads to a terrifying encounter with a divine messenger.

“A Prophet” centers on Jonah, a war-scarred veteran living in self-imposed isolation after PTSD and depression drive him away from his wife and young daughter. Seeking a path back to his family, Jonah enters an experimental VA treatment using psychedelic therapy, only to suffer vivid religious hallucinations in which an Angel declares him chosen by God. As the visions intensify, Jonah’s fragile grip on reality collapses, blurring divine calling with psychosis. Compelled to “deliver God’s word,” he confronts his family in a terrifying spiral of delusion and violence. With the consequences closing in, Jonah must choose between surrendering to reality or following the Angel deeper into the wilderness, leaving behind the last image of the life he hoped to reclaim.
