A.Phoenix
Forty years after his mysterious death, singer/songwriter Alan Phoenix has become a hero to millions. Chloe, a young female journalist, obsessed with learning the real story behind Phoenix's tragic life and death because it mirrors that of her brother, finds that the people who knew Phoenix have wildly differing memories of the same events.
The work is inspired by the life, death and rise to fame after death of the legendary 1970’s British singer/songwriter Nick Drake. Original songs in the work were written by the successful Hollywood songwriting duo Aurah, whose work has been featured in more than 14 feature films and 60 TV programs.
The main theme of Phoenix is that everybody needs heroes; if they don’t get the heroes they want, they will create them, even if that means being less than 100% accurate in their memories and their perceptions of reality.
