Professionally, Karen is a Television Academy Foundation alum and works as a full-time producer: creating content for Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Bros, and animated television ("ARK: The Animated Series"). Additionally, Karen is the Webby award-winning producer of "Brittany Broski's Royal Court" - a celebrity interview show featuring high-profile guests like Josh Gad, Saoirse Ronan, Nicholas Hoult, and many more.

Director Statement

"A Painterly Hand" was inspired by my own time in the fine art world, struggling to define and box myself into just one artistic medium — an exploration that eventually led me to filmmaking. Thus, many of the paintings featured in the film are taken from my personal portfolio, already aligning with the film's macabre tone of suspenseful Hitchcockian sequences and visceral Maya Deren-esque montages.

Having emerged from various artistic spheres, I also wanted to assemble a production team of exceptional, multi-talented creatives. Because ultimately, "A Painterly Hand" is a love letter to artistic passion — about how far we're willing to go to create art and how far we go for the ones we love.
