Director Biography - Mohammad Zare

Mohammad Zare was born on July 23, 1984. He started his professional activity in 2014 by making a documentary called "Pray for my dream". A documentary that pointed to the poverty and countless problems of the people of southern Kerman and was able to enter the Haqiqat Cinema Festival with the same documentary. He has edited several documentaries, including "Here Among the Graves." Mr. Zare decided to say goodbye to the world of documentaries forever in 2021 to experience a new direction in the world of cinema, making fiction films.
Therefore, he started making short films and first produced a 100-second film called “Live”; The film entered the 100 Film Festival, then to continue his progress in the production of short stories, he went to the great figures of Iran’s cinema, including Masoud Kimiaei, and learned from them.
Zare's latest work in the field of short films is Anthrax.

Director Statement

Corona pandemic caused schools in Iran to become remote and virtual. Virtual schools increased demands for mobile phones among children and teenagers. Many rich and low-income families were forced to provide mobile phones for their children. So, many children and teenagers who were prohibited from having a cell phone before Corona pandemic had mobile phones at their disposal without any restrictions. Children and teenagers have been exposed to a big virtual world without limitations or family supervision. The research showed that this issue causes numerous anomalies and problems for some teenagers and children, problems that occur primarily because of the families' lack of information about the opportunities and threats of the Internet world for their children. The film Anthrax was made for this purpose, for a warning.
