ANNA
ANNA is a short documentary that follows the journey of a young Russian refugee Anna Solodovnikova, who arrives in America to seek asylum in hopes of living a safer life as a Jewish woman.
After arriving on the West Coast, Anna becomes acquainted with a man who promises to help her obtain a visa and shelter her while she is staying. As time passes, this man's true motives begin to show, eventually leading Anna down a path to fight for her freedom through the Federal prison system and Immigration Customs Enforcement.

Nathan L. Marquez is an award-winning, narrative and documentary director based in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Cinema Art & Television with a focus on directing. Since that time, he has directed multiple short narratives and documentaries that have been screened at film festivals around the country. Nathan creates his love for storytelling with a unique voice and visual tone around authenticity and simplicity.
Téia Kane is a Brazilian producer and director with over 10-year experience in stage, advertising, and film. She has been involved with community work since an early age, and later began registering her experiences in countries such as Mexico, Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Jordan, Syria, and Iran. Téia is an activist for human and civil rights of immigrants and refugees and worked as a volunteer at the Adelanto ICE detention center.
