Director Statement

"Moment" was certainly a lesson in patience for me. The idea started as a feature spec script that I co-wrote with lead actor Diana D'Amato. After workshopping the characters of Ethan and Hope extensively, I knew I wanted to bring this story to life in some way. I didn't have the resources necessary to shoot the entire feature version, so I adapted the idea into a short film to be shot in Richmond. Due to COVID and a variety of scheduling issues, the film endured over six months worth of delays. I chose to use those delays as time to perfect the shot list, schedule, and script, and I believe the film has been much strengthened by its extended time in pre-production. I am incredibly proud of the final product and can't wait to show it to the world.
