Adam Gaudreault is a Director based in Toronto, Ontario. Adam wrote and co-directed the micro horror short film, Hands of the Devil that won Best Horror Short in 2020 at Spark Micro-Short Film Festival in Buffalo, NY. A Man Walks into a Bar is his third short film, and first short film where he did not have a co-director. Whether the story’s tone is light, or dark, Adam enjoys adding cute and silly elements to his work when they compliment the story.
In 2021 my father passed away from Mesothelioma Cancer. For the last 6 months of his life, I was his primary caregiver. I moved in with him and took care of him as his health rapidly declined. I am still finding a way to deal with that experience, and I can’t even begin to explain what it is like to be someone's end of life caregiver. When I got the script for A Man Walks Into A Bar, I felt especially connected to the main Character, Brian, because it felt like I was reading a script about the internal struggles I was going through just a few short months earlier. Taking care of my father as he passed changed the types of stories I was passionate about. I want to show others the beauty within our darkest moments.
