Director Statement

In 2021 my father passed away from Mesothelioma Cancer. For the last 6 months of his life, I was his primary caregiver. I moved in with him and took care of him as his health rapidly declined. I am still finding a way to deal with that experience, and I can’t even begin to explain what it is like to be someone's end of life caregiver. When I got the script for A Man Walks Into A Bar, I felt especially connected to the main Character, Brian, because it felt like I was reading a script about the internal struggles I was going through just a few short months earlier. Taking care of my father as he passed changed the types of stories I was passionate about. I want to show others the beauty within our darkest moments.
