Director Biography - Zhang Hai

As the Founder/Art Director of SHISW Shanghai International Short Film Festival, I graduated from Donghua University and studied at New York Film Academy. My short film 《Flowering Season》had Mr. Thom Palmen, a judge of Berlin International Film Festival and Oscar producer, as its art director, and winner of The Best Foreign Short Script Award at the Nice International Film Festival 。

The producer/director of China's first national intangible cultural heritage documentary film on 《The Eastern Madonna Jinggu Chen》and the film distribution by iQiyi China，Recommended works from the 49th Toronto International Film Festival Chinese Film Exhibition; Director of the Nokia 《Connecting People film》；Co-producer and Supervisor the film 《Blue Bow Tie》and the film distribution by released by Sohu Video China；Producer of the film 《Variations》；Art director of the film 《We Fought Passionately》。

My Directed/Written/Producer/Supervisor films have won over 70 international film festival awards certified by Academy Awards/BAFTA/Canadian Screen Awards/IMDb, including HollyShorts Film Festival HollyShorts Monthly Screenings, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Nice International Film Festival, Houston International Film Festival, Jaipur International Film Festival, Tokyo International Short Film Festival and China Golden Elephant Children's Film Week 。

The film is an experimental piece that explores a new dynamic between video documentary, narrative storytelling, poetic emotions, and the portrayal of implied life. It deliberately omits dialogue and music to achieve its artistic goals.
