Artist Biography

Shakil Ahmed is an emerging filmmaker and visual storyteller from the tranquil village of Sreenathdi, Datta Kenduya, Madaripur, Bangladesh. Growing up surrounded by rivers, fields, and rural life, he developed a deep appreciation for nature and simplicity — which now inspires his work behind the camera.

Shakil captures the raw emotions, unfiltered beauty, and daily struggles of rural communities through his unique cinematic eye. His storytelling blends realism with visual poetry, honoring the fading traditions and unsung lives of the Bangladeshi countryside.

As a self-taught artist and founder of a local visual project initiative, Shakil has produced several photo essays and short documentaries that have resonated with viewers across social media and are gradually entering international showcases.
