A LONELY PERSON'S MONOLOGUE
Thirty-year-old Galib lives in a remote mountain village with his father Ibrahim — a war veteran who suffered a stroke from his battlefield wounds and now is on his deathbed.
For years, Galib has cared for his father Ibrahim, who can no longer speak in full sentences and can only make short sounds.
Their communication, with Galib trying to complete the words his father struggles to express, resembles more a monologue than a conversation.
Unexpectedly, Galib receives his draft notice: tomorrow he must leave for the war. Today is their final meeting. In this last encounter, all the things they have kept buried for years come to light: love, hatred, regret, and the longing for forgiveness.
“A Lonely Person’s Monologue” is a story about feelings carried in silence for a lifetime, and how they surface in the face of death and farewell.

For me, this film is the voice of silence — a visual expression of unspoken words and the loneliness a man carries within. “A lonely person s monologue ” is not only a family drama told through the lens of a father–son relationship, but also a portrait of a generation burdened by silence and trauma.
Through the character of Ibrahim, we witness the final, quiet struggles of a man who has long been emotionally closed off — a man who doesn’t know how to express love, yet has never stopped loving. Qalib, on the other hand, searches for that love within the silence, all the while fearing it. While making this film, I relied less on dialogue and more on glances, stillness, and the rhythm of nature — because sometimes the most powerful emotions live in silence.
This film is a farewell, a reconciliation, and an acceptance. It captures the moment when two men — standing at the thresholds of the past and the future — look at each other and say very little. Their voice is the voice of nature, the voice of memory, and the familiar silence within us all.
