ALIEN. From Different Dimensions
ALIEN. From Different Dimensions by Jurita Kalite is a 20-minute short film that explores the migration crisis through the lens of art and personal stories. Beginning with the White Cliffs of Dover, the film weaves together dramatic visual images of the English Channel with an emotional interview of a migrant recounting their harrowing journey to the UK. Through news montages and a powerful presentation of Jurita’s painting The Great Migration to Britain, the film reflects on the dangerous crossings and the human stories behind them. It highlights the tragedy of lost lives and seeks to keep these stories alive through art and memory, drawing attention to the plight of those who have lost their homes. Specially for the film, soprano Irina Pskovitina performed works by Mozart and Albinoni.
