Ramzi Abed is a Palestinian-American visual artist and filmmaker based on Planet Earth.
Ramzi Abed has always been a champion of independent film. Ramzi has worked in film acquisitions for over a decade, and has always focused on discovering new talent and creating new avenues for new filmmakers. Ramzi wrote and directed the independent thrillers, The Devil’s Muse and Telephone World, which both went on to become cult films over the years, both garnering broad releases on home video and streaming channels including Netflix and Tubi. Ramzi has worked in practically every area of filmmaking that exists, and has created an interesting if controversial legacy that transcends genre and industry. He is actively developing new projects, listening to records and taking avant-garde photographs in his spare time.
I absolutely love the Super 8mm film medium, and what it can do to show the world in a way that is both nostalgic and new. Utilizing its beautiful and deceptively simple resolution allows me to go into dreamlike places that are abstract and transcendent visually, which works well for an experimental and loose adaptation of something as complex as a man and a woman juxtaposed against nature. I hope that this little film gives people an experience.
