Allyanna Demafeliz is a Filipina-American who aspires to become a visual development artist or concept artist in animation. She was born in Renton, Washington to two Filipino immigrants who moved to the US for a better life. As a child, she grew up watching animated movies and knew she wanted to become a professional artist. She graduated from San Jose State University with a focus on Animation/Illustration in Spring 2021. She is currently determined to take her first step into the animation industry.
A Fleeting Moment came from an idea that I've had in my head for 10 years since middle school. I was inspired by a poem my 8th grade teacher gave me as a passage to read in class about two raindrops in a midlife crisis. I was always fascinated and terrified by the transitory nature of life, but I overcame my existential fear of death by making sure I don't take every moment of my life for granted. I always thought that this story would translate well to animation, and I'm grateful that I've had the opportunity to pitch it and create it as my final thesis film in San Jose State University.
I want to say thank you to all my teachers and classmates for helping me bring this project to life during the pandemic. Lastly, I especially want to thank my parents and my relatives for supporting me on my path to animation. Without your encouragement, this idea would have only remained in my head as a mere idea.
