Director Biography - Víctor Quintas Lamas

Victor Quintas Lamas
Audiovisual and pictorial artist born in Alcalá de Henares, he studied film directing at the Septima Ars School (Madrid).

With a strong aesthetic influence inherited from the theater, having grown up and collaborated in the Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares, he was in charge of the direction and the art department in several pieces in parallel to his training, especially in the format of advertising and video clip.

In this way, he was trained in the practical field of filming to carry out more artistically personal pieces, such as his best work, EL SUEÑO DE UN DEMONIO. He falls between dark fantasy and science fiction, invites us to reflect on human consciousness and questions its own logic. Short film with which he created a stir in the city of Athens, winning LIBER FILMS for best Screenplay and best short film, finalist at the ATHENS INTERNATIONAL ART FILM FESTIVAL and finalist for best soundtrack at FIFF and GGIFF. A project with which he was accepted in the EMERGING FILMMAKERS & YOUNG CREATORS program of the SGAE Foundation, as well as in the industry outreach program of the ANGAELICA FESTIVAL (USA). Film that now has its point of view set in SITGES.

He is also the author of the comedy short film: LA GENTE QUIERE TIROS, a film currently in post-production process, in which both the most intellectual aspects of the union are criticized, as well as its opposites, through a scandalous ending.

He has worked as an art director in numerous films, highlighting the short films POLVO DE ÁNGEL (Miguel Varela Vázquez), RESPECT (Mannya Barthe), NEREA or VIDAS PARALELAS (Álvaro Saz). He also performed roles in the department in feature films such as LOS BÁRBAROS, a RTVE & PANTALLA PARTIDA production.

In the field of painting, portraits and canvases of contemporary content through different commissions. He is also the illustrator of the book ANTOLOGÍA DEL CLICKBAIT (Javier Álvarez Lago). He also occasionally works as a philosophy and debate teacher in compulsory secondary education institutes.
