Director Biography - Igor Borghi

Igor’s love and passion for filmmaking goes back to when he was a teenager. His love for storytelling
and film and cinema then, is still the basis of his professional career now which have made him the
most awarded advertising director in Italy.
After a stint at the Italian National Film School in Rome, Igor started working on feature films, going up
the ranks quickly to become a coveted First Assistant Director for some of the best directors in the
country such as Marco Tullio Giordana and Paolo Sorrentino, among others.
In the meantime, he started producing and directing his own work, short films screened in many festival
around the world and art videos in which he collaborated with different artists such as the project with
Marco Fantini screened at the Museum of Castel Sant’Angelo in Naples.
In 2010 Igor started directing commercials. His talent was immediately recognized by the business in
and out of the country, by reaching, in his first year in as a commercial director, the Young Director
Award in Cannes.
His career has grown in these years, with national productions mixed with international ones, creatively
interesting and directorially relevant projects.

Audi, Ford, Renault, Doritos, Amstel, Sky and Amazon are just a few of the clients that he has director
commercial for in the past few years. His love for a storytelling and a good creative challenge has also
brought him to collaborate on Branded work both as a director and a co-author. The web series created
for Ford Europe and Renault - starring Italian star Luca Argentero- are the perfect examples of this.

developing and writing a TV series and is pretty close to getting his first feature film off the ground.

Director Statement

The storytelling has as its main focus the emotional involvement in the protagonist's desperate
loneliness. We wanted a film that drops us into a believable reality, one that speaks of a deafening
absence. The climax is opposite to the usual narrative: hope fades until it disappears. Even as the
protagonist searches for survivors, using the radio or signaling his presence, we realize that he is
the last man on earth. Everything loses meaning without the other people we "hear" in the
choruses of the soundtrack. The cinematic rhythm is the pivot to trigger deep meditations on
what we are risking.
