Director Biography - Daniel Ladislau Horvath

Daniel Horvath is an emerging, self-taught, writer-director and playwright, working in the Central Valley. An immigrant from Romania, living in California since 2014, Daniel began his artistic journey later in life, in 2024 when, in a moment of temporary artistic insanity, as he had no prior directing experience, declared his intent to participate in a film competition. Three years, one produced play, three films, and four festivals later, here we are.

The mockumentary “A Day in the Life of a Professor at A.I.U.” is:
1. “A digital luddite’s jeremiad,” if you ask its director;
2. “An expression of a predictable technological panic around new technologies”; if you ask the director's sister;
3. And/or “a movie with a strong and timely premise” if you are its director and ask a sycophantic A.I. “what do you think about my movie?”
