A Bunch of Junk
“A Bunch Of Junk” is a quirky frolic through the button artwork and personality of Paula Naomi Johnson. Her buttons range from silly and playful, to macabre and political, and they display a multi talented artist who can churn out beauty with ease. She takes us through all the magical possibilities of what a simple button can be, how she discovered this artform that made her “pant with joy,” and then sprinkles us with freeing pearls of wisdom about what it means to be a “perfectly broken” artist.

Ian Johnson has been doing art in some form or another since he could walk. Lego, illustration, music, and then photography which led him to getting employed at a large media-centric church for eight years. That job, which provided him the opportunity to learn about filmmaking, in turn, led him to commit himself fully to the art form by going into post-secondary school full-time in the Motion Picture Arts program at Laurentian University in Sudbury Ontario. Since then he has been a crew member of various forms in multiple feature films and created several of his own personal short films as well as a couple of music videos. He is passionate about form and thesis within filmmaking and attempts to make every decision count in conveying the heart of the project. Some of the films that inspired him growing up are Star Wars, Dark Crystal, Neverending Story, Krull, and Terminator 2.
