Writer Statement

I wrote this story about my hometown as a way of retracing my steps and reframing my childhood. It's therapeutic for me.
I see this as a limited series, with six episodes, or possibly three seasons. The audience would watch Gabriel grow into a 40s-something millennial who finds his purpose amidst the political and cultural chaos of present day.
A production like this would funnel money directly into the community, where it's needed, hiring local cast and crew. While I am not Native Hawaiian, I know some talented Hawaiian writers whom are ready to join the team.
