Private Project

My friend Naim

Alba an 8 year old girl who lives alone with her father, comes out one night to throw away the garbage. In a dark alley, next to the containers, she meets Naim, a South African immigrant. Two different worlds will come into contact to show that... Has friendship no age, color or borders? In the Universe we are all connected; but sometimes capriciously.

Director Biography - José Luis López Ortiz

While other children played ball and ran along the streets, Jose Luis Lopez was a child who liked to observe everything that happened inside and outside his world.

Drawing, coloring, painting, constructing and photographing, from time to time, with his father's "Werlisa Mat" camera, were part of the everyday doing that would somehow mark the rest of his career as an artist.

A degree in Fine Arts, a degree in audiovisual production and a Master's degree in marketing and communication, José Luis has developed his entire career as an advertising creative, audiovisual producer and press editor.

Many years ago José Luis lay aside the brushes and the color palette, but these have accompanied in silent for the rest of his life. The lights, the cameras, the publicity and the publishing world have been able to fill the void all these years. But there is always something inside the artist people that keeps him expectant, attentive to the dictates of his heart.

At the age of 52, he debuted with his first short film "Mi amigo Naim", obtaining 25 selections and 5 international awards. And now he presents "The T-Shirt" a new short film, in which he resorts to the visual metaphor to continue deepening his cinematic path of social and educational style, which has brought him repercussion and recognition.
