Director Biography - Cat Torres, April Audia

Cat is a Los Angeles based filmmaker. Originally from New York, she transplanted to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She has worked production on numerous music videos and feature films. In 2011 , her script treatment won the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival script writing contest and was produced as their trailer for the festival that year.Cat has directed music videos for local musicians including Yard of Blondes and Samantha Pearl. Her passion for filmmaking stems from a theatre background in New York and her love of Jim Henson movies and Neil Gaiman novels. Cat has a Bachelor's of Science in Digital Filmmaking.

April Audia is a bi-coastal New York /Los Angeles based actress and filmmaker. Having worked her entire adult life as an actress, April began to add filmmaking to her life years ago while shooting music videos as a student at LACC. She has since gone on for a BA in Film at Mount Saint Marys University. Writing several shows in episodic format including “Gina Reimagined” which brought her to the finals for the NZWebfest 2020 pitch contest. April decided to begin directing her content as well including sharing the directorial responsibilities of the second season of “Long Island South Shore”.

Director Statement

We like to explore the dynamic between a mother and daughter. A relationship that explores the depth of love and passion that can take us on a journey of extreme emotions. Long Island is a world steep in history of family and passion. Although these characters may seem extreme to some, they are in fact a look into a world that both April Audia and I have experienced. We are thrilled to shine a flashlight into that corner of the world and all of its complexities.
