After Words
Academy award winner Marcia Gay Harden (Fifty Shades of Grey, Pollock) stars as JANE, a bookish introvert, who looses her job as a librarian and spirals downward into depression. The library and all of its books gave her life and meaning. JANE contemplates suicide and decides to see something beautiful before she dies, travelling to tropical, picturesque Costa Rica. Once there she meets a younger man names JUAN (Oscar Jaenada, Cantinflas), a charming, charismatic tour guide who makes his living off the many single female tourists who come to town. Together, they embark on an adventure into the heart of Costa Rica. The awkward pair experience a transformational journey where JUAN reads his first book and JANE comes to appreciate what “Pura Vida” (“Pure Life”) has to offer in a way that may change her plans to “end it all” in paradise.

Starting at the bottom of film production and working his way up to First Assistant Director with hundreds of TV commercials, Juan got a very good hands-on experience on how to run a set and gained the financial freedom to write, host and produce his own award-winning content, radio shows and independent features in the US and abroad. Since his first stage play in 1999, Feldman has also pursued his passion for writing, directing and producing theater, balancing the commercial and creative aspect of Production in any platform.
Juan Feldman was born in Uruguay and moved to Venice, California in 1995 where he still resides. As the founder and head of Production of Mano a Mano Films, Juan splits his time between the US, South America and Europe.
Currently working on documentaries, feature films and a television shows, Mano a Mano Films has several projects in different stages of development, all with the message, mission and purpose: To elevate the consciousness of the world because together, mano a mano (hand in hand), we can keep evolving while promoting the values that bring us together in harmony with the environment in which we live in.
Writing and Directing film is a passion that gives me a frame to make a sense of it all. It is the juxtaposition of images that move the story forward, much like every second we spend on this earth. “After Words” is the possibility of people realizing the power they have within themselves.
