Dana's Story

After the imprisonment of her father, a young girl is forced into human trafficking...her mother brokers the deal.

Based on a true story, the film is an adaptation of A.L. Smith's critically acclaimed novel "Behind Closed Doors". The film depicts the harsh realities of the sex trafficking industry.

"Smith’s voice is both sturdy and elegant, delivering blunt, edgy prose that’s never uncompromising but profound urban tale from an incisive author"---Kirkus

Bernard Toussaint rescues a young girl from a ruthless Haitian pimp and breaks up a human trafficking ring in Port Au Prince. He quickly flees his home country and settles in East St Louis Illinois, an American city hampered by third world living conditions. Taking his brothers advice, Bernard sets out to make his American Dream a reality and finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
Ten years later, karma rears its ugly head and Bernard's past comes back to haunt him. Determined to even the score, the Haitian pimp exacts revenge through Bernard's wife and daughter.
