There is no happy love - Il n'ya pas d'amour heureux
An original art film based on a French poem written by Louis Aragon. The film features an original ballet choreographed by Steinvor Palsson and spoken word poetry performances. The film which was shot at Dance Base, Edinburgh and various locations around Sheffield was inspired by the life and spirit of Dora Rachel Franks Daniel, who passed on from this life on 8th February 2015, just before her 28th birthday. Dora worked as Community Liaison for the University of Sheffield Students Union Volunteering Programme; she was well known across the city and had a positive impact in many ways. Dora was open about her own struggles with mental health; her bravery around this was inspiring and it translated into care for others.

I am a passionate filmmaker that believes in the power of film for giving young people a voice. I have dedicated my life to working on creative endeavours with organisations like The Spirit of The Rainbow Heron and individuals to instigate social change and to inspire people to make a difference. Mental illness is a difficult subject to approach in any medium and it can't be ignored that it touches all of our lives.
I hope that this film, its performances and underlying message stir up profound feelings in the audience. What those feelings are is up to each individual.
It doesn't matter to me what they feel . . just as long as they feel something.
