Thus starts Bocage’s sonnet, whence we took the name of this documentary. However, contrary to the idea of departure it expresses, we have aimed to focus on proximity. And we have contemplated it so intimately that it became unavoidable to associate the river to the soil, as it fecundates it, bringing it to life, a source of creative energy.
That route took us to the women whose testimony is hereby offered. Each and every one of them is the soil touched by this river. It helps germinate their creativity, by inspiring their work or providing the peace of mind they need in order to face the challenges of everyday life.
These are women who, besides everything else on their mind, have an activity in the art world, in business, in politics. Different from one another; similar in the sensitivity with which they bud to the River Sado.
