Best Welsh Short Film Nominee
Luke Andrews is a BBC broadcast credited, BAFTA-Cymru nominated director, writer and video editor, with ten years freelance experience.
I don't like my ideas and screenplays to be restricted by lower budgets, and have been lucky enough to surround myself with a team of resourceful filmmakers who enable me to realise my big screen ambitions, pushing limited budgets to their limits in what can be achieved. With particular focus on telling the stories of small people against large social/political/historical backdrops, I write the large-scale stories that I like to see on the big screen. I like to think of my latest short film, a Focus Shift Films and Vale Production of my WW2 drama Dying Light, as my first 'little big film'. With its authentic period costumes and locations, its VFX aeroplane dogfights and its big screen cinematography, it is a low-budget statement of intent for the feature films that I would like to make in the future.
