The Corner
As far as babysitting jobs went, this one was about as routine as it gets. The kids were fed, the teeth were brushed, the bedtime stories were read, and the “Just five more minutes??” requests were hushed. But when Joli finally sat down for some quiet time in front of the television things didn’t get dull… they got deadly.
THE CORNER... because you never know what you'll find in someone's house, and sometimes, neither do they! THE CORNER... because sometimes the only safe place to back yourself into is exactly where you don't want to be!! THE CORNER... because sometimes, just sometimes, home is where the horror is!!!

Writer. Director. Actor. Musician. Drummer (wait for it…). Model. Artist. Canvas. Columnist. Proudest Papa EVER. And as Creative Director of the straight jacket-tested/doctor-approved Mad Ones Films, from Greensboro North Carolina, Jaysen Buterin's mission has been to show the unbridled kaleidoscopic creativity just waiting to be unleashed when the inmates are finally allowed to run the movie-making asylum. More comfortable behind the camera as the writer/director of the award-winning "Tarantino meets Twilight Zone" sin-soaked short film trilogy, "The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus," the on-the-road killer thriller, "Between Hell and a Hard Place," or the sinister stay-at-home horror hits of "Don't Let the Light In" and "The Corner," he's also at home in front of the camera, acting in such frightful and delightful films as "Knob Goblins," "Loop," "Hybrid," "Born Again," "Mama's Boy" and "Identity Thieves". Currently Buterin and the Mad Ones are working on their very first feature-length film, the coulrophobia-courting/clown killing goodness of "KILL GIGGLES"!!!
In perhaps an ill-advised and not entirely well thought-out instance of self-administered and prescribed psychotherapy, I decided to, not necessarily cure my nigh-crippling coulrophobia, but to abate it to a much more manic and manageable level. So I thought, what better way to turn a downright panic-inducing phobia into a barely beneath-the-surface boiling bubbling river of botheration and detestation than to make a movie starring my worst nightmare, clowns. Well... just one foul floppy-footed fiend in particular, brilliantly portrayed by the tremendously talented Joh Harp, who stars alongside the always amazing Missy Dawn, in what I hope is a unique take on an urban legend. THE CORNER was also my trial-by-fire to see how I would do on a film set with clowns, since my next project will a feature-length film starring nothing but them. (In case you're curious, the answer is I did okay... I only screamed once, and that's because he was hiding behind the refrigerator.) But don't just take my word for it, watch for yourself and don't forget to listen out for Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP)'s audio cameo!!
