Director Statement

Growing up as the youngest boy in a family with two older sisters, I remember the traumatising moments in my childhood when my sisters would force me to wear make-up and play dress-up with them.

When I was approached by the three-piece female punk band Suss Cunts to direct the music video for ‘Anaemic Boyfriend’, the song immediately brought me back to my days as a living doll in my sisters’ fantasy world.

I channeled my pre-teen sisters in directing the semi-reluctant male cast.

Me and my sisters are closer than ever.
