The Well
“The Well,” a drama set during the Algerian War of Independence. The French army surrounds a southern Algerian village where they believe an enemy is being hidden and force the inhabitants to either confront the issue or die of thirst.

Born May 18, 1964, in an Algerian filmmakers family, Lotfi Bouchouchi graduated from the Graduate School of Cinema and Audio Visual, ESEC in Paris.
In the early 90s, he was first assistant director on several feature films of well known directors including Merzak Alouache and Mohamed Chouikh... Meanwhile, He worked as a production manager on for the Algerian state television.
Since 2000, he directed some documentaries and advertising films, and especially co-produced feature films, among other "Viva l'Aldjeri" from well known director Nadir Moknache, "Barakat" form Director Djamila Sahraoui, "Ziara" from well known Tunisian director Nawfel Sahebtaba, "Rani myet from director "Yacine Benelhadj and was an executive producer in John Irvin film "Mandela's Gun".
In 2014, he directed a feature film "The Well" that BL Films (his production company) co-produced with the AARC a.k.a . AGENCE ALGERIENNE POUR LE RAYONNEMENT CULTUREL.
