The Man from Ruin
We follow a man that struggles for survival, as he gathers items needed for the impending winter. Outside of personal video logs and the philosophical ramblings of a former human survivor, the man seems to wander the world without contact from other humans.

Joel Shelton is an independent filmmaker from East Tennessee. He's heavily influenced by the works of Bela Tarr, Andrei Tarkovsky, Ingmar Bergman and Mamori Oshii. Recently, he completed his first feature film length titled "The Man from Ruin." This film is a remodernist slow film that takes place in a desolate post-apocalyptic wilderness.
Religiously watching the films of Andrei Tarkovsky and Bela Tarr was a better film education than any 4 year film school. They have shaped not only the way I make films, but the way I see the world. So, if you enjoy their films, let's hope you enjoy my first feature film.
