Director Biography - Harvan Agustriansyah

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, in 1980. Harvan Agustriansyah studied directing at Jakarta Arts Institute. After graduated, he worked as assistant director in many Indonesian feature- length films production. As a director, he has produced, wrote and directed several short films participated at national and international film festivals. Sugar On The Weaver's Chair (2019) is his first feature film who won for Grand Jury Award at 16th Houston Asian American International Film Festival, Grand Jury Award and Audience Award at 10th Guam International Film Festival and Cross Cultural Award at Middlebury New Filmmakers International Film Festival & Balinale International Film Festival 2021.

INDONESIA
Saya ingin memberikan perspektif lain dalam sebuah kisah cerita horor. Yaitu mengenai karakter baik dan karakter jahat dalam film ini. Stereotype seperti yang kita kenal bahwa setan pastilah jahat dan manusia yang selalu menjadi korban dari gangguan setan. Dunia yang terpisah pada akhirnya akan bertemu dan di sanalah semua yang kita lakukan akan menerima pembalasannya, bukan oleh Tuhan, namun dengan apa yang kita lakukan kepada orang lain baik di dunia manusia hingga dunia alam Barzakh.

ENGLISH
I want to give another perspective in a horror story. That is about the good characters and the bad characters in this film. The stereotype as we know that Satan must be evil and humans are always victims of Satan's disturbance. The separate worlds will eventually meet and that's where everything we do will receive its retribution, not by God, but by what we do to others both in the human world and the world of Barzakh.
