8:48
In a dreamlike scenario, a young woman (Ginger Winn) sings at a piano in a vast and ornate theatre without an audience while a man (Keith William Richards) arrives late for a show and is summoned to the stage. The audience follows as he desperately attempts to access the theatre while the song is bearing down upon him.
The lyrics tell the story of a couple in an unresolved argument on the morning of 911 from the perspective of a partner who doesn’t want to be late to work at the twin towers. While they count the floors on the elevator on the way up to their office they reassure themselves that they will make amends with their loved one once they are at their desk (only moments before the tower will be struck by the first plane).
8:48 is a reference to the time the main character had to be at their desk. A number selected because it as arbitrary as the 9:00 time we are typically required to arrive to work, but tragically immediately after the now infamous moment that American Airlines Flight 11 struck 1 World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. A symbolic dedication to the untold personal devastation on that morning and the arbitrary unpredictable nature of fate.

Kevin Lombardo is a first-generation Italian-American Director and Photographer based in The Lower East Side, NYC. As a music video Director, he's collaborated with such talented artists as Omar Apollo, Gus Dapperton, Rico Nasty, The Drums, SYD and many others.
Kevin recently completed filming his debut feature film 'Dirty Finger Nails' starring Luna Blaise, Jaeden Martell, Debi Mazar, and Keith William Richards (who also stars in 8:48). It is produced by Harapeko Productions.
9/11 stories often begin with reference to the clear blue sky on that fateful morning. A juxtaposition for the hell that would soon rain down. If only everyone - or anyone- could have found the ugly fate hidden in that sky. If only we could stop that loved one from getting on a plane, or going to their office, or rising to the call of duty. If only.
This song tells the story of lovers in a fight on the morning of 9/11. If only we could tell them to reconcile before being robbed of that opportunity. If only.
We used the meticulously restored St. George Theatre on Staten Island, NY (home to hundreds of victims) to serve as the setting for a theatrical show to which The Man (Keith William Richards) was running late. He doesn't realize at first that The Performer (Ginger Winn)- his love, or his fate, or the haunting memories of that fateful day await on that stage .
In synchrony with the song's lyrics and composition, this short film follows The Man as he realizes he must try to stop the clock. We used the humanmade beauty of the theatre to symbolize the architectural masterpieces by Minoru Yamasaki that were the Twin Towers and the frescos to symbolize the blue skies of that day. We relied on a cast of only two people to emphasize that monolithic tragedies captured by three digits - 9/11 - are but only a collection of individual tragedies like lovers robbed of an opportunity to reconcile. Finally, the theatre is used to symbolize the nature of a workplace being a version of a show that you play a role in to emphasize a reexamination of priorities with an eye towards memento mori - remember you will die.
