Emmanuel Mwape(born March 18, 1991) is a Zambian aspiring film director, writer, and poet. Founder of a gorilla production house called Delicama Filnms, based in the slums of of Zambia’s capital Lusaka, Misisi compound, born from a shanty business local couple.
He made his directorial debut with a short film titled “The Interview during the Young Cinemas in Zambia workshop, and has since directed Am free(2014) an award winning short, Wrath (2014) a short film which was nominated in the best short film category in our country’s biggest film and radio awards, “Sex”,( 2016) .
My movies have examined race relations, freedom, belief, urban crime and poverty, and other political issues.
Being a gorilla film maker from a country were the audience is thirst for local and international films but yet with no film school and film polices it is a challenge and a privilege to be in the film industry as the land is still uncultivated, to submit a film to your festival its an honor and privilege for me and the country.
