Synopsis:
Der Einzelgänger Jorde Ensov zeichnet rätselhafte Pläne in ein Buch. Als er spurlos verschwindet, bildet sich um ihn ein Mythos. Ein Lehrer behauptet, Jorde hätte vor seinem Verschwinden eine Welt geplant und sogar erschaffen. Er gibt vor, Jorde in Visionen vor sich zu sehen und Einblick in sein angebliches Schaffen zu haben. Als der Lehrer seine Fähigkeit der visionären Sicht verliert, erklärt er die Welt Jorde Ensovs für gescheitert und Jorde selbst für einen Irrtum, ein Hirngespinst ...

Narrator (last chapter): "They say that a shepherd in the highlands saw a ghost. It must have lost its way; it was going round in circles, like a lost sheep. Jorde is alive. Jorde exists. He has not vanished from the world simply because he has disappeared. He is somewhere out there in the cold, the cold that comes to us from the North Pole and appears to be staying for a while – although it’s mid-August. Strange, because the weather here usually changes every few minutes..."

Director Statement

ZIMZUM is a no budget project positioned between art video and experimental feature. An appearently simple but multi-layered story, told by an invisible narrator voice-over, takes viewers on a complex trip in the literal sense: in the middle inside into metayphysic landscapes and thus in a world of illusion and creation.
ZIMZUM (The English subtitled version) is an independent artwork with a precisely composed lettering design. It´s artistic message differs, in some extent, significantly from the non subtitled version. According to the director it is meant to be the final version. It can be streamed separately on Filmfreeway.
