Phil Stern. Sicily 1943, the war and the soul
Phil Stern, the great American photographer of the stars of the postwar Hollywood (Marilin Monroe, James Dean, Frank Sinatra and many others), back in Sicily after 70 years, at the age of 93 years. As a young man, in July 1943, just twenty years old, he had landed on the island as a combat cameraman in tow of Darby's Rangers US Army. In this documentary he is narrated his professional career and his return to Sicily (in 2013) that closes the circle of his long life. The war, the hundreds of photographs that, his story, make this documentary an exceptional document and unpublished.
