Diego Bonuccelli was born in Viareggio (Tuscany, Italy) on November 11, 1993. He studied at the University of Pisa. In 2013, at 19 years old, he directed two short films ("Super Carla" and “The Green Furies”). In 2014, at 20, he directed the short film “The Day of the Partisan” and made is directional debut in a feature film with “Welcome to Elderstorm”: a prison movie settled in the USA in 1913. In 2015, at 21, he directed the action/thriller “5 Maschere” and then a documentary short film called “Oldnanna”. In 2016 he directed the short “XII844” about the Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre of August 12, 1944.
"XII844" faces a delicate and important matter such as the Sant'Anna di Stazzema massacre of August 12, 1944. Reflecting on the effects it had on people who still bear the weight of those memories, in a world that daily perpetuates similar barbarity.
