The Plateaus
Just as their musical star begins to rise, The Plateaus, unexpectedly lose their lead singer to a tragic accident during a band practice. Morgan, Tryke, and Davian – the remaining band members – are left to their own clueless devices to carry on without him. The result is a hilarious parody of an independent band trying to climb the ladder of success...and failing at every turn, filled with Canadian cameos (Jay Baruchel, Elisha Cuthbert, Fred Penner, Kevin MacDonald, Sam Robert, Eric Peterson, Hollerado, George Stroumboulopoulos, Billy Talent, Liz Trinnear, and more).

An alumnus of both the Producer’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre and the Berlinale Talent Campus, Chris Agoston has produced a number of short films, independent features, and digital series since arriving in
Toronto in 2009. He recently directed and produced the first season of The Plateaus, a comedic digital series for CBC. He also has produced Cast No Shadow, a Newfoundland set drama-fantasy that had a multi-week theatrical release in April 2015. Directed by Christian Sparkes and produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada, the NLFDC, and NBCUniversal, the film was nominated for four Canadian Screen Awards including Best Motion Picture. In January, Chris wrapped on The Lockpicker, the first feature film by award winning filmmaker Randall Okita. The film is currently in post-production.
To whom it may concern,
Thanks for taking a look at our web series submission.
A little bit about us: The Plateaus are a real fake band (think The Monkees or Spinal Tap) on a legit record label (Royal Mountain Records) and dance the line between parody/pop music/internet trolling/satire/reality. Our goal is to do live appearances, in character concerts, etc. The world is your oyster - have an idea for us to crash a party at your festival? Just ask.
Thanks for your time, and for your consideration,
The Plateaus team
