My parent's had a theme going when they chose our names; my sisters and I are named Justice, Mercy, Valor and Truth. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from CSULB's B.F.A program in Fall 2020 with an emphasis in animation. I've got two cats, and am absolutely fascinated with how we use narratives to form our identities. Please talk to me about media studies.
In 2018, I was involuntarily hospitalized for 72 hours (hence the movie title). Upon my release from the psychiatric ward, my close friends came to pick me up. Standing in the lobby, enveloped in a group hug from some of the people I love the most I was glad to be alive for the first time in a long time. I made an animated film about this experience, and in making it, I felt a type of catharsis that was necessary for me to turn my life around. 72 serves as an emotional diary of the past couple of years: my breakdown, the road to recovery, and the friends who saved my life.
