4 friends
During a dinner party, the announcement of Maja's departure for Madagascar shatters the fragile balance of a friendship.
Between laughter, anger, and tenderness, one night is enough to reveal what everyone has been keeping quiet for too long.

Franciszek Kizinski is an emerging Polish filmmaker, driven by a genuine passion for cinema and a keen interest in the delicate textures of human relationships. He began his directing journey with short films “Piotrek et Marcel” ,“Des-illusions”, followed by “La vie en rose”, and later explored group dynamics and emotional tipping points in “4 amis” and “Fabrique d’amour”.
Alongside his directing work, he gained practical experience in technical roles (camera, grip, assistant steadicam) on professional sets like “The Zone of Interest” by Jonathan Glazer, deepening his knowledge of cinematic craft. Committed to human stories, he volunteered in the medical field in Africa during his high-school years — an experience that shaped his desire to tell realistic, meaningful narratives. His cinema is characterized by intimacy, soft lighting and meaningful silence, capturing small gestures that speak louder than words.
For each person, the driving force behind their daily life is different. The source of happiness and satisfaction is a priority for all of us. For many, especially young people, this source can be friends. A group to whom we confide our secrets, with whom we share our daily frustrations, or to whom we entrust the provision of our daily dose of humor. Having friends provides incredible stability and comfort in our daily struggles. We so often have to pretend, inhibit ourselves, orbehave according to etiquette that having people who are close and familiar is a blessing and a pleasure thatis not easy to give up...
Radical changes in life require drastic changes such as a change of residence, new work schedules, additional commitments... In short, will our protagonist in the film KAT dare to give upcomfort and interpersonal commitments with her friends in favor of her own development?
The aim of this film is, in particular, to confront this dilemma. Does the group allow you to develop as an individual or does it seek to anchor you? Each member of this group of friends is driven by different emotions and personal goals. What will determine KAT's hesitation to leave? The fear of loneliness, a feeling of guilt, a rational calculation of the pros and cons? My hope is that, at the end of the film, viewers will not find the answers to these questions. But that they will find the courage to ask themselves: how would I act in a similar situation, and have I ever found myself in a similar situation?
