THE 2025 CREATIVE WORLD AWARDS SEMI FINALIST
I’m Johnny Russell, and honored to be selected WINNER in the Winter 2025 New York Film & Cinematography Awards, The Fall 2024 Santa Barbara Int'l Diverse Writers Screenplay Awards and Chicago Script Awards for my drama NEON. But I also love Sci-Fi.
I've placed as a Finalist in WriteMovies32, and Quarter Finalist in BlueCat and StoryPros contests. I am a member of the Organization of Black Writers.
I've faithfully served the city of San Diego for more than 30 years as a professional law enforcement officer. In the interim I have published numerous articles in the SDPD and SDPOA publications.
In 2007 I authored a gang/cops story which became an AWARD WINNING NOVEL. I have studied screenwriting and completed the Gotham Writers Workshop online screenwriting course with the talented instructor/writer, Tal McThenia, as well as several tutor sessions and workshops with noteable writing instructors.
My objective is to have a script writing position that will enable me to contribute to the creative development of a vast variety of television shows and blockbuster movies.
