Cathy in Real Life
She'll become a feminist, as long as it doesn't make her look fat. ACK!
Cathy in Real Life is a live action parody of the classic Cathy comic strip.
After 34 years in the Sunday Funnies, Cathy's cartoon is canceled for being outdated and offensive towards women. Andrea and Charlene want to help Cathy get her comic strip back by doing the impossible: making her a feminist.

Susan Sassi is a comedy writer, singer, actress, and self producing artist originally from the exotic land of South Jersey. She is a writer/performer for the iO West Main Stage Sketch Comedy Team, It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way. When not playing at iO, Susan is writing and producing plays, cabarets, videos, and some web series. Most recently, Susan wrote the book and performed in the musical Victorian Courting and Zombies, which she produced at UCB as a Spank Show, at iOWest as part of the LA Scripted Comedy Festival, and as part of the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival, where it received rave reviews and had a sold out run.
Cathy represents the child in all of us struggling between what we want and what is socially acceptable. She also represents the modern women struggling with the changing definition of feminism and what self-love really means. I hope this web series encourages women to be themselves even if it conflicts with what most women think is empowering. Loving yourself despite anyone else’s opinion is truly the most empowering choice of all.
