Daniel Munro

Daniel Munro (Armand Aucamp) is a mysterious, wealthy young man from the
city, who ends up at a road stall in the middle of the barren Tankwa Karoo (semi desert
in South Africa). His car broke down and with roadside assistance only
able to send someone out the following Monday, he is forced to spend the
weekend at the road stall. The stall is run by Cornelius Theron (Callie Theron); a
wise, old, Afrikaans man, with a different view on life than Daniel. Things at the
stall suddenly heat up when two detectives decide to show up.

Director Biography - Willem van den Heever

I am an independent filmmaker, photographer and traveler from Cape Town, South Africa. I specialize in writing, directing and editing. I am an adventurer and explorer at heart. I like to hear stories, see stories and tell stories. I believe we can either choose to be influenced by the world or influence the world. I have a great passion for art, music and traveling.

I started filmmaking in 2011 while still in high school. In 2013 I started studying BA Film Arts at The Open Window Institute of Film Arts in Centurion, Pretoria. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Film Arts in 2015. I created my first short film, Coffee at the end of 2013 which shortly afterwards got international recognition. In April 2014 I was awarded the Best New Talent Award at the 2014 National Film Festival for Talented Youth in Seattle, USA and in January 2015 I got selected as a Sundance Short Film Challenge winner. In between I also do freelancing work, mostly focusing on commercials and music videos.

I spend the first six months of 2016 traveling and backpacking, mostly through the United States where I spend most of my time writing, photo-documenting my journey and gathering stories, while also trying to further pursue my passion for filmmaking.
