IN THE GARDEN: ANCHORS OF FAITH
As a sequel to IN THE GARDEN (1), ANCHORS OF FAITH focuses on the women who are left behind when the men are called to fight in WWII. We still dive into the story of the Hall family. Aunt Suzie and Trudy.. trying to hold their family together with Harold gone. We get a deeper look into Trudy & Harolds younger days, and we see a mother who tries to help her adult daughter work thru mental illness. As Laura faces all the challenges of a young woman in a wheelchair, determined to beat the odds and go into the missionary fields like her father did. She has to leave her home to attend college, and put her faith in God even tho everyone tells her its an impossible task. Join this family and theor friends as they face tragedy, obstacles, heartache, and ultimate victory by being Anchors of Faith for those they love thru War time years!

A Writer's Testimony

Some of life's greatest lessons have come to me through stories. For as long as I can remember, God has used stories to speak to my heart. Long before they became books, poems, songs, or screenplays, they began as quiet thoughts, questions, and characters that lingered in my mind. I would ponder them, pray over them, and discover that each one carried a deeper truth than the story itself.
As I grew older, I realized something that forever changed the way I viewed storytelling. Jesus often chose to teach through parables. He knew that stories have a way of reaching places in the human heart that facts alone cannot. His stories invited people to see themselves, wrestle with truth, discover hope, and experience the transforming love of God. In that realization, I discovered my own calling. What I once believed was simply a love for writing, I came to understand as a gift from God.
He had planted within me a passion to tell stories that illuminate truth, inspire faith, encourage perseverance, and remind people that He is present in every season of life. Over the years, I have come to understand that my purpose is not simply to write stories.
My purpose is to point people to God through stories. Whether it is a book, a poem, a song, a screenplay, or a film, I do not see these works as the destination. I see them as vessels. They are simply the tools God has entrusted to me to carry His message of hope, redemption, grace, and unwavering love into the hearts of those who need it most. That is the heartbeat behind every story I write.
In the Garden, and Anchors of Faith were born from that calling. Set against the backdrop of World War II, those stories honor the quiet courage of those whose battles were fought far from the front lines. They are stories about ordinary people whose extraordinary faith sustained them through sacrifice, uncertainty, grief, impossible dreams, and the everyday challenges that shape a family's legacy.
My prayer is that audiences will see themselves somewhere within these characters. That they will be reminded that no storm is greater than God's faithfulness, no burden too heavy for His grace, and no life beyond the reach of His love.
If someone leaves one of my stories with renewed hope, strengthened faith, or a deeper awareness of God's presence, then I have fulfilled the purpose He placed on my heart.
I do not write for fame, recognition, or financial success. While I am grateful for every opportunity God provides, those things have never been my motivation. I write because I believe stories can open hearts, plant seeds of hope, and point people toward the One who is the Author of every good and perfect gift. This is more than my profession. It is my ministry. It is my calling. And it is my offering back to the God who first gave me the story.
