Christopher Livingston, debuted as a filmmaker in New York City, directing and co-writing the award winning feature, Hit and Runway. The picture was released theatrically in over twenty cities across the US, and aired on Showtime before being put out on DVD. Prior to its release, the movie received a number of accolades on the festival circuit, including "Best Screenplay" at The Los Angeles Film Festival, and The US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen among others. It was also voted by critics, "Best Screenplay" and "Best Comedy" at The Seattle International Film Festival, and was nominated for “The Starfish Award” (top honors) at The Hamptons International Film Festival in New York. At Roger Ebert’s Floating Film Festival the movie was voted by audience members as one of the top 3 favorites. The picture premiered internationally at The World Film Festival in Montreal.
Chris received his MFA from NYU Graduate Film School, where his thesis movie, Chicken Of The Sea, a fifty-five minute featurette, earned him The NYU Best Directing Award, a Faculty Commendation, and an Eagle Award from CINE--the international festival in Washington DC. The film was also a finalist in The New York Underground Film Festival.
Upon the release of Hit and Runway, The Los Angeles Times did a feature article on Chris. He was also written up in New York Magazine, and interviewed by The Joan Rivers Show, WGN Radio in Chicago, and LA Weekly.
In addition to having penned and directed a number of feature projects, Chris has also written scripts for TV, including a pilot, Ask Roz, which was packaged by The William Morris Agency and attached to Katherine Helmond (Soap, Who's the Boss?). He developed an animated TV series, Cliff Hanger, which is currently playing in countries around the world and developed a series, Model Crimefighter, for Spelling Television. Dumbbells is his second feature film.
