Director Statement

In November 2011 I visit the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica.
My dream was to make an awesome, kick-ass thriller movie like Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, only with a much smaller budget. At AFM, while watching a panel of seasoned executives, agents, and Hollywood movers and shakers, the idea came to me in a flash.
During the Q&A portion of the talk, I asked them how I could get the biggest buzz for my project with a miniscule budget, with high end production value? They couldn't answer my question, but their enthusiasm to my asking it only encouraged me. This was something that had never been done before! At that moment, I made up my mind to put together a movie with a budget as ultra low, a ultra micro-budget that looks like $5 mil. If I could pull it off, then this could change the world of movie making forever, putting the power for creative and artistic expression in the hands of passionate indie filmmakers with the will and the determination to do it.

Why Female Wrestling?

I myself was a wrestler in Los Angeles and I know all to well about the hardships of these women wrestlers . Some of you might remember GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling). Glow was a professional wrestling promotion for women, begun in 1986 that pioneer the first female wrestlers in history. I got cast to became a female wrestling in 2012 with a group of wrestlers called WOW (Woman of Wrestling), the same sleazy producer that started GLOW cast me in WOW. After 3 months of hard training in the gym, I got the flu for 3 Days. WOW went to Las Vegas without me and THE BOOM BOOM GIRLS OF WRESTLING was born!
