Roya Eshraghi was born in 1985 in Iran. By the age 15, she left her homeland.
Her own experiences in life with her passion for Persian poetry have been a source of her inspiration, reverberating into her cinematography, as it happens in “The Tree”. She studied Anthropology in Costa Rica, then Cinema in EICTV/Cuba. Memory, migration, a quest regarding identity are some of the main topics of her exploration, both artistic as well as social.
